 The sixth instalment of The Speedicut Papers will be published in October 2015. Book 6, entitled Vitai Lampada, edited by Christopher Joll, formerly The Life Guards, covers the period 1879 to 1885. The book features the charge of the 1st & 2nd Life Guards at Kassassin and Speedicut’s reluctant and unsought involvement in a series of British colonial and imperial disasters in Afghanistan, South Africa, Egypt and the Sudan. Whilst not ducking shot, shell and spears, Speedicut also manages to find time to indulge in numerous pleasures of a dubious kind.
