 This is a truly mammoth illustrated book, and full of interest for anyone who follows the British Horse World in its many guises. There are short profiles here on people involved in all aspects of the horse world: racing, hunting, eventing, horse jumping, dressage, carriage driving, training, breeding, polo and a few others as well. Ceremonial and the military are also well covered, and included is an excellent chapter entitled Britannia’s Horses by Christopher Joll, formerly The Life Guards. There is also a piece here about Major Richard Waygood, formerly The Life Guards, who is now the Performance Manager for the British Dressage squad.
Hossein Amirsadeghi’s photographs are impressive. This is an expensive book at £35, but it will certainly adorn any coffee table!
